Sedir Island in the Gulf of Gokova, where the sand is protected oolite. You swim from a platform, you do not lie on it. Best on a morning gulet.

Three hours each way, worth it for the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. Go early or late season; August at Ephesus is a furnace.

Three questions worth asking first
Street-sold excursions in Marmaris are often good value and occasionally not insured for anything. The difference is not printed on the flyer.

Question one
Who is the operator, and are they licensed?
A ticket seller is not an operator. Ask for the company name on the licence, not the name on the board.

What happens if the sea is up?
Cancellations for weather are normal on this coast in shoulder season. Get the refund position in writing before you pay cash.
Question three
Is it covered by my travel insurance?
Some activity excursions sit outside a standard policy. Your agent will tell you which ones need a declaration.
